Training in culturally-appropriate, bi-vocational work E. and R. were both born in S.E. Asia and spent their childhood in different countries. Both attended university in USA and entered their respective professions. As young adults, they sensed a call to do something "more". They met in California, where they were married. During studies in the Pacific Northwest, they organized and led community groups while taking leader-training trips to Asia. E. and R. have two thrusts to their service activities. (1) They train community transformation workers, helping them to raise up new leaders to reproduce their efforts, resulting in transformed lives and communities. This includes many insights into making their initiatives more sensitive to local cultures. (2)
They are committed to practicing and guiding others in bi-vocational
(tent-making) self-support, so that they are free to
serve communities in areas of the world where authorities may be
hostile and communities too weak to support them. E. & R. A. (P051ERA) E. A. (P049EPA) R. A. (P050RPA) Community
