Resourcing
urban ministers and the church-at-large across America
Rudy is a visionary leader with two decades of experience in U.S.
urban contexts. Since graduating in 1990 from Stanford University with
a BA in English, Rudy has focused on indigenous leadership development
in urban communities in Pasadena, California, and elsewhere.
A writer by training, his articles have appeared in Christianity Today,
the Los Angeles Times,
and other publications. He has spoken at churches, universities and
conferences across the country. He serves on the board of directors of
World Vision United States and is the director of Two Forty Group,
which focuses on resourcing urban ministries.
Rudy
was born in East Los Angeles to a single mother who died when he was a
child. His eldest sister reared him, his sister and his brother. His
theme verse is Luke 2:40 - "The child grew and became strong; he was
full of wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him." He and his wife,
Kafi, a former principal of an urban Christian elementary school, were
married in 1994. They live in Grand Rapids, Mich., with their four
children. |
